Eshowe is in the heart of Zululand, nested on top of a hill, hence the name eShowe. We are located, as the crow flies, 125km from Durban, 65km from Empangeni, 80km from Richardsbay, 120km from Vryheid and 23km from Amatikulu beach and N2 from Durban.
The sports blub is on your right as you enter Eshowe from Melmoth and Empangeni.
If you are traveling from Durban side, Eshowe has 2 entrances, one at the bottom of the hill (first one) go past that one to the top of the hill (at the robots) go through the robots and as you leave Eshowe, the Sports Club is on your left. The Exel garage is prominent near the Sports Club.

Heatonville Adventure Park |

Heatonville Adventure Park is up the north coast in KZN just 45km from Richards Bay and inland from Empangeni.
- Take the R34 Nkwaleni/Melmoth road out of Empangeni and travel for 6.5kms
- Turn right to Heatonville opposite Empangeni Milling and travel for 9kms (potholes)
- Pass the Heatonville club and after crossing the third railway line turn right where the road forks (sign posts from here).
- Tar road then becomes dirt, travel for about 3kms
- Turn right at Heatonville Adventure Park sign and travel for 1.5kms
- Turn right at orange H, and follow this country road for 1,5kms to an awesome place.

- Eshowe has 3 entrances, one at the bottom of the hill, coming from Gingindlovu and one at the Sports Club/ Excel Garage, coming from Empangeni, do not take either of these, instead continue until you get to the robot on the main road.
- From Gingindlovu take a left, from Empangeni take a right
- Cross the next robot and you will see Pick & Pay on the left, continue straight on a curving road to the next robot.
- You will notice a cell tower on your left, go straight through that robot.
- Continue through the town and about 22 km’s from the exit of town (beware pot holes) you will get a sign that says, Ntumeni Mill Cottages and then Ntumeni.
- Turn left and continue for 5 km (beware pot holes)
- Turn right into the Club at the sign.

From Empangeni 23 km’s on the right at a blue sign that says Paul Laisegang, go up the dirt road for about 800m then you will see the dam. It will be marked.
If you are coming from Eshowe side it is 22 km's to the Nkwaleni turnoff, take a right (coming from Melmoth take a left).
From the Nkwaleni turnoff about 31 km’s to the turnoff, on your left.

From Durban/ South the best way is via Eshowe
From the North the best way is via Empangeni
From Empangeni you would travel 38 km's and the Farmers Hall has great white palm boxes in the driveway on your right
From Eshowe you would travel 22 km's to the Nkwaleni turnoff to the right (from Melmoth to the left)
From the Nkwaleni turnoff it is 8 km's to the Nkwaleni Farmers Hall, white palm boxes to your left.
- Nkwaleni Farmers Hall is about 2 hrs from Durban
- 1 Hour from R/Bay and Melmoth
- 40 Minutes from Empangeni

Directions to "Peters House" 31 Havelock Road

- Eshowe has 3 entrances, one at the bottom of the hill, coming from Gingindlovu and one at the Sports Club/ Excel Garage, coming from Empangeni, do not take either of these, instead continue until you get to the robot on the main road.
- From Gingindlovu take a left, from Empangeni take a right
- Cross the next robot and you will see Pick & Pay on the left, continue straight on a curving road to the next robot.
- You will notice a cell tower on your left, go straight through that robot.
- Continue about 100m then turn right into Bulwer road
- At the top of the road you get a cross section, turn left in Havelock Road, no sign, Electriacal box on your left.
- About 100m down the road, 3rd house on your left 31 Havelock Road, hoot at the gate.

- Take the Ballito turnoff, left from Durban and right from North Coast
- About 3 km’s at the T junction turn left
- About 1 km take a right to Compensation
- A while later you get to another T junction, take a left
- The next T junction take a right
- You will see ahead of you an overhead bridge, just before that there is a turn on your right (with a bunch of signs) take that.
- 500m along the dirt, turn left, over the bridge and turn right
- Follow that farm road, past the grass airfield and two cane loading zones (follow telephone poles) until you get to the homestead. Do not use the big gate that you will see infront of you, but rather go around the right hand side to the smaller house gate.

Shakaland is situated in the heart of Zululand, between Eshowe and Melmoth, nestling on the top of the Entombeni Hills, overlooking the Phobane Lake.
Directions From Durban: Take the N2 North; veer off left at Dokodweni Toll Plaza onto the R66/Melmoth/Ulundi.
14km passed Eshowe turn off left to Shakaland, which is well signposted.
A characterful traditional Zulu "Umuzi" or homestead, divided into the home of the Zulu`s and the hotel rooms. A unique resort is built on the set of the movies, Shaka Zulu and John Ross. |

Directions from Durban N2 Turn (L) at Dokodweni off-ramp (Bridge no. 9). Turn (L) at stop street towards Gingindlovu. Travel 4½km – look out for White round signboard (TATTENHAM RESORT) on Left hand side. Turn Left and follow road down to dam. Dam and chalets on Right hand side. Directions from Richards Bay N2 Take Dokodweni Off-ramp. At stop street turn Right towards Gingindlovu. Travel 4½km – look out for White round signboard (TATTENHAM RESORT) on Left hand side. Turn Left and follow road down to dam. Dam and chalets on Right hand side. PLEASE NOTE: ALTERNATIVE ROUTE Take Dokodweni off-ramp. Instead of using our first entrance (4½ km from off-ramp on left), carry On straight until you get to Gingindlovu turn-off. Turn Left and carry on for 1km. Look out for round sign on Left hand side of road (Tattenham Resort). Turn onto farm and follow road down to the dam. If unsure phone me at this point and I will take you down to the Resort.
